A new month is almost upon us, which means Sony is about to refresh the lineup of games that all PlayStation Plus members can claim and keep in their collection as long as they maintain their subscription. Between March 4 and March 31, you'll be able to snag Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) is the clear headliner this time around. Fans had to wait a decade between new installments in BioWare's series, partly because the studio rebooted its work on the latest title several times. Veilguard, an action RPG, is a direct sequel to 2014's Dragon Age Inquisition.

In the summer of 1989, two great titans of teen pop culture combined. Veteran publisher Konami, then famous for titles such as Contra, Gradius and Castlevania, won the licence to produce games based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the global stars of a hit cartoon series and action figure line. That year saw the first two products of this fertile relationship: an entertaining action-platformer on the Nintendo Entertainment System, and a four-player arcade beat-'em-up that would go on to become one of the highest grossing coin-ops of 1990. They were bright, ridiculous and brimming with TMNT characters, story arcs and scenarios – and they were just the beginning of a series of tie-ins now collected together in this lovingly produced compilation. There are 11 games here, taking us from those late-80s originals on through the NES beat-'em-up sequels, the Genesis exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist, fighting game Tournament Fighters (three versions are included) and the three excellent Game Boy platformers. Common elements stand out to fans: the way Foot Clan ninjas would burst into the scene by smashing through windows or screeching up in cars, the robots with electrified whips, the interactive scenery (gushing fire hydrants, spinning road signs), the RSI-inducing boss battles, the pizza.

A sequel about married paranormal investigators, "The Conjuring 2," ascended to the top of the Friday box office, outperforming runners-up "Warcraft" and "Now You See Me 2." The three debuts supplanted last week's box-office leader "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows," which landed in the fourth spot, followed by the Warner Bros. romance "Me Before You." "The Conjuring 2" earned an estimated 16.4 million overnight. The New Line/Warner Bros. film exceeded expectations while on its way to a projected 40 million opening weekend. Though hardly a disappointment, the sequel has a steep climb to reach the tally of its predecessor, which ultimately earned nearly 320 million worldwide. Audiences liked the movie, which stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as believers working to exorcise demons from a home in North London. Like its predecessor, the second installment earned an A- from the polling firm CinemaScore.
